The big stripdown
of everything started and finished this week,
as you can see in the pics.
Other holes were
found! and some patches were welded in, like the
rear panel and boot holes.
The petrol tank
was removed to find that the suspension was simply
mounted on fibreglass patches!! which just fell
away with a tap, and another hole in the floor
was found under the tank.
Couple of questions
for those that know :- in the second row of pics
how does this plate fix in, note that the hinges
have been welded on as there was no hinge plate
at all (rusted away, we will grind off the old
hinges) anyway how does this replacement panel
fit?
is it welded to the flat surface where the old
hinges are? (we think its this)
or does it slide in behind like in pic 1? where
the lip of the replacement panel slides in behind
where the hinges are welded to?
And, can you get
replacement air vent panels?
