The first ever official MiniResource club meeting was definitely a success! Maxi (Snotser) & I (Mark) arrived a bit late to the meeting place, Little Chef, not our fault of course, and accusations of us missing a turn off the motorway were strongly denied! Maxi's Mini added a splash of colour to the three very unnoticeable red Minis there already! Waiting for us were; Jill (Jile) & her friend in a mint '00 Cooper, Keith (maverick) in his now infamous 1275 custom Mini and Liz and Brian (McMini and Mr-McMini) in their beautiful '66 850. After waiting for a while to see if Keith Denny would turn up, we headed off in search of backroads and general Mini fun!
After heading up some of the fantastic roads around Swords, Rush, Lusk and Skerries, a lunch break was well overdue. As we left with our wallets very much lighter, a certain black '95 Mini Cooper was sat outside the door. Keith Denny had found us! After searching for us everywhere, to find us in his hometown of Skerries must have been luck!
Now we had a convoy of five mint Minis, and many heads were turned and many flashes and waves were received! We headed up through Malahide and back to Portmarnock, where we stopped for coffee at my humble abode.
There were many memorable moments during the run, for me mainly Keith's Parking (which was like an art form - I wonder if he will integrate the handbrake into his parking next time!) and the competitive car park moments. Visit the forums to read others' favourite moments.
