   The Commercials

The commercial varients of the Mini proved very popular, and now most are used as domestic or leisure vehicles.

In January 1960, the van is introduced, costing £360, with the 848cc engine and is called the "1/2 ton van".

In February 1961, the pick-up is introduced. Both commercials are fitted with dry suspension and they never gain hydrolastic.

In October 1967, as a sort of MkII upgrade, van and pick-up buyers get the option of a 998 engine.

In April 1973, Rod-operated gearchange is introduced.

In December 1978, Vans and pick-ups are re-badged as 95s, indicating their maximum gross weight.

In May 1983, The Vans and Pick-up are axed.
